External Line Transfer (System Telephone)
An authorised telephone, for example the telephone exchange, can transfer the exchange line access required for an outgoing call to another internal telephone for a short period of time. This is useful, for example, when this telephone is located in a publicly accessible room, and is only occasionally used for external calls by an employee.
