Settings Configuration Manager Update and Provisioning
Procced as follows:
Using the Configuration Manager (page Settings > System > Update & provisioning)
Update
Manual update  > Search
If no update server is available, you can initiate an update by loading a firmware file in the telephone from your hard disk or from a data storage device.
Note: The automatic installation of updates is switched off when you perform a manual update. You can switch the automatic installation of updates on again under  > Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Automatic update.
Requirements:
Notes:
You find the firmware file on the Internet (Auerswald: www.auerswald.de/service, FONtevo: support.fontevo.com).
To get information about the firmware version that is currently saved in the telephone, select  > Settings > System > About phone or, in the Configuration Manager, click on the logo at the top right with the left-hand mouse button.

Select the firmware file (*.rom) > Save. To activate the new firmware, click Reboot.
Notes:
To restart the telephone at a later point in time, tap on Cancel and then, under Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Reboot, tap on Reboot when you want to restart the telephone.
After a firmware update you usually require a new version of the instructions. You find up-to-date instructions on the Internet (Auerswald: www.auerswald.de/service, FONtevo: support.fontevo.com).
In order to use the new features after the telephone's firmware has been updated, you often may need to update the PBX firmware (see PBX operation instructions).

Schedule
The schedule specifies the weekday and time at which the update and provisioning are to be performed.
Note: To avoid overloading of the provisioning server, the automatic update and provisioning starts within a time slot of 60 minutes after the set time.
Time
Indicates when provisioning is to be performed.
Scheduled days of week
Indicates the week days on which the update and provisioning is to be performed.

Update settings
When performing an automatic update the system checks whether a new firmware update is available on the update server, at the set point in time. If an update is available, the new firmware is loaded into the telephone if the automatic installation of updates is selected.
Requirements:
Address of the DNS server entered on the Settings > Network > Ethernet
The set schedule must be entered on the Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Update
The address of the update server must be entered on the Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Update
  Check for updates
  Automatically install update
Notes:
If only the Check for updates check box is selected, the system only checks for the availability of a new firmware version and, if there is one, it displays it. The firmware is not updated until the Automatically install update check box is selected.
After a firmware update you usually require a new version of the instructions. You find up-to-date instructions on the Internet (Auerswald: www.auerswald.de/service, FONtevo: support.fontevo.com).
In order to use the new features after the telephone's firmware has been updated, you often may need to update the PBX firmware (see PBX‘s Advanced Information).

Distributing firmware
A new version of the firmware can be distributed from one system telephone to other system telephones connected to the PBX.
Requirements:
Enabled Distributing firmware check box
Note: If the check box Distributing firmware is enabled, the distribute.rom file will, during an update, be automatically created on the corresponding data storage device.
Note: The distribute.rom file can be saved onto the data storage device either via the file manager (see chapter Settings > File Manager) or PC. You find current firmware versions on the Internet (Auerswald: www.auerswald.de/service, FONtevo: support.fontevo.com).
Notes:
The telephone that receives the firmware must have a firmware version as of 2.4.
The PBX must have a firmware version as of 6.6.
Distributing the firmware is possible from one COMfortel 3600 IP to other COMfortel 3600 IP and from COMfortel 1400 IP/2600 IP to other COMfortel 1400 IP/2600 IP.
When operating the telephone on another PBX than the PBX, the telephone can be updatet directly from the firmware distributing telephone. For this, you must enter the update URL http://<IP address>/distribute in the telephone.

Firmware may be distributed. The telephone that distributes the firmware is at this moment used as update server.

Update server URL
To automatically update the firmware you must enter the URL of the update server. The URL of the update server is already entered in the factory settings. However, if it is not, or if you want to change the URL, follow the instructions below.

 Firmware update > Update
If you have entered the address of an update server, you can check the update settings and the functioning of the server by performing an update test.
Requirements:
The address of the update server must be entered in Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Update
The check for new firmware is carried out.
If no firmware file is available on the update server, a warning message is displayed to tell you that no new firmware is available.
If the telephone's update settings are incorrect, a warning message is displayed to tell you that the check for new firmware was unsuccessful.
If the update settings of the telephone are correct and a firmware file is available on the update server, the new firmware is installed. The telephone is restarted, and the login window opens.
Notes:
To restart the telephone at a later point in time, tap on Cancel and then, under Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Reboot, tap on Reboot when you want to restart the telephone.
After a firmware update you usually require a new version of the instructions. You will find up-to-date instructions on the Internet (Auerswald: www.auerswald.de/service, FONtevo: support.fontevo.com).
In order to use the new features after the telephone's firmware has been updated, you often may need to update the PBX firmware (see PBX‘s Advanced Information).

Provisioning
  Auto-Provisioning
During automatic provisioning the configuration data is automatically loaded in the telephone from the provisioning server, at the set point in time. The system checks if a new firmware update is available on the update server. If an update is available, the new firmware is also loaded into the telephone if the automatic installation of updates is selected.
Requirements:
Address of the DNS server entered on the Settings > Network > Ethernet
The set schedule must be entered on the Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Update
The URL of the provisioning server must be entered on the Settings > System > Update & provisioning > Provisioning

  Provisioning with DHCP data
The telephone receives the IP address of the provisioning server from a DHCP server. In addition to IP addresses, it is also possible to transmit further data to control the provisioning process.

  Redirect server
The telephone receives the IP address of the provisioning server from the redirect server.

  Provisioning from PBX search
The automatic configuration of the telephones is carried out via the PBX.

Provisioning server URL
If automatic provisioning of the configuration data is not carried out via DHCP data or via a redirection server, you must enter the URL of the provisioning server.
Note: You find further information about the provisioning process on the Internet (see www.auerswald.de/service under Developer).

Permit remote configuration via SIP messages
Note: You find further information about configuration via SIP messages on the Internet (see www.auerswald.de/service under Developer).
The telephone is configured via incoming SIP messages. An additional entry must be made:
IP address of configuration server (1-5)
Configure at least one configuration server.
