Function Keys
You can use COMfortel Set and the telephone to assign functions to freely programmable function keys.
Using COMfortel Set to Assign Function Keys
1.
Open the page Function keys > Assign function keys.
The position of the selected function keys is marked in red at the top of the display.
Note: Key level can be selected by clicking.
2.
Right-click the function key you want to assign and select the corresponding function.
The current assignment of the key will be displayed.
3.
Notes:
The options switch off, switch on and switch over are available. The options switch off, switch on and switch over determine, if applicable, if the function, depending on the status, can be switched (switch over) with the key, or if it is only possible to switch on or off.
When printing the lettering label, the key name will be adopted for the lettering field.
If there are additional settings, they will be listed in the description of the function key.

Using the Telephone to Assign Function Keys
1.
Press the Menu key and open the define keys menu.
2.
Press the function key that you want to define.
3.
4.
The key settings are shown, if available.
5.
Notes:
The options switch off, switch on and switch over are available. The options switch off, switch on and switch over determine, if applicable, if the function, depending on the status, can be switched (switch over) with the key, or if it is only possible to switch on or off.
If there are additional settings, they will be listed in the description of the function key.

Touch Function Keys
In addition to the programmable function keys with LEDs on the right of the device you can create up to 8 touch function keys in the idle state of the device.
Once a function has been assigned to a touch function key, a symbol corresponding to the selected function will be displayed. A crossed-out symbol indicates a disabled function. A coloured dot on the right-hand side below the symbol indicates an illuminated LED. A rotating red dot on the right-hand side below the symbol indicates a blinking LED.
Contrary to programmable function keys, touch function keys only have one level, and not all functions can be assigned to touch function keys.
Tapping on the function symbol carries out the assigned function.
Important: Some functions are only available if the device is connected to a PBX. These functions must first be configured in the PBX, and it may be necessary to grant authorisation for their use.
The following functions can be assigned to touch function keys:
