Voice Mail and Fax Boxes of the PBX > Voice Mail and Fax Boxes

Voice Mail and Fax Boxes
A voice mail/fax box which is assigned to the telephone or to a group can be operated like a local answering machine.
It saves the messages for an individual subscriber or a group and can be queried any time by the subscriber or the members of the group.
Messages and announcements are not stored in the telephone but in the PBX (in contrast to a local answering machine). The size of a voice mail/fax box is determined by the PBX, as well as the authorisation to use it. A voice mail/fax box can be assigned to an individual subscriber or to a group. Moreover, a subscriber may be granted authorisation for several voice mailboxes.
Important:
Only available for operation on the PBXs COMpact 5010 VoIP, COMpact 5020 VoIP, COMpact 4000, COMpact 5000/R, COMpact 5200/R, COMpact 5500R and COMmander 6000/R/RX.
For some PBX an optionally available module has to be inserted.
COMmander 6000/R/RX: COMmander VMF module
COMpact 5010 VoIP: COMpact 2VoIP module
COMpact 5020 VoIP: COMpact 2VoIP or 6VoIP module
The readiness of the local answering machine at the telephone will automatically be switched off if the assigned voice mail/fax box is used in the PBX. Querying voice messages, as well as replaying and deleting own announcements is still possible. The recording function can still be used.
When operating on the PBX systems COMpact 5010 VoIP and COMpact 5020 VoIP, only voicemail boxes, but not fax boxes, can be managed.
