End Device
Device that can be operated on a communication network or on a PBX, e.g. telephone, fax machine, answering machine, ISDN PC controller, etc.
Ethernet
Network system with a speed of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s that was developed by the companies INTEL, DEC and Xerox.
Exchange ActiveSync
XML-based protocol for the synchronisation of data (e. g. e-mail messages, contacts, calendars) between a server and an end device.
Exchange Line
General term for a connection that links the PBX to the public switched telephone network. The exchange line joins the provider‘s local exchange and the telephone connection.
Extension
Internal connections of a PBX together with the devices, e. g. telephones and telefaxes, connected to them.
