InterCom Announcement/Hands-Free Operation
The InterCom function enables an audio connection to a system telephone from one or more telephones without someone having to actively receive a call (for example, in a medical practice).
The callers can also request a system phone to switch on the microphone in addition to the loudspeaker (hands-free operation) so that a person nearby can speak to the caller using this intercom system.
Requirements:
System phone that supports InterCom (optional, see phone manual)
COMfortel D-series: enabled Convenience package D-series
Stnadard VoIP phone: SIP convenience package brand plus
InterCom announcement and InterCom hands-free are carried out as follows:
A single system phone or a group is called using the InterCom function.
The following rules / restrictions apply:
If a single D-series phone or Standard VoIP phone is called, it automatically switches to hands-free operation. An announcement is not possible.
If a group is called using the InterCom function, all system phones of the group that have given the InterCom permission and are ready to take calls will be called.
The group status (logged in, logged out) will not be taken into account.
Hands-free operation is not possible in the case of an InterCom call to a group.
After a few rings, the system phone/system phones of the group members automatically pick up the call.
Announcement or hands-free calling is executed.
The following rules / restrictions apply:
Announcement or hands-free calling is limited to 120 seconds due to security reasons in order to prevent possible misuse of this function (for example, eavesdropping from remote rooms).
After 120 seconds has elapsed, the connection is automatically interrupted unless the system telephone receiver is picked up during this time.
Configuration procedure:
Switching the InterCom permission for the involved internal phones on.
Using the Configuration Manager (Abonnés (Abo) > Propriétés > Paramètres)
If necessary, assigning a function key for InterCom on the system phone (optional, see the phone manual).
