Voice Mail/Fax Function and Memory Management
If the voice mail function is used without the COMmander VMF(-R) module, announcements for the voice mailboxes, language files, and incoming voice messages, are stored on the necessary USB data storage device.
After the COMmander VMF(-R) module has been inserted, the announcements for the voice mailboxes, language files, and also incoming faxes and voice messages, are saved to the memory card in the COMmander VMF(-R) module.
*Caution:Do not remove the USB data storage device from the PBX while the system is running.
Switch off the PBX before removing the data storage device.
*Important: For technical reasons, the mainboard's voice mail channels are switched off when the COMmander VMF(-R) module is inserted. Any voice mailboxes that have been previously configured are switched off. Existing announcements/recordings can no longer be accessed (the COMmander VMF(-R) module uses its own SD card instead of the USB data storage device). If you want to keep an announcement/recording, save it to the hard disk before inserting this module.
Announcements: Using the Configuration Manager (page Devices > Voice mail and fax boxes > Properties > Announcements)
Recordings: Using the Configuration Manager (page User data > Call data > Messages)
*Note: A directory structure is created on the data storage device; you may not change this structure.
*Note: The data storage device must have at least 50 MB free memory.
*Note: We recommend you replace the COMmander VMF(-R) module's memory card every two years. Only use recommended memory cards.
*You will find suitable recommendations on the Internet (see Auerswald: Auerswald Service Portal, FONtevo: FONtevo Support).
