Connecting a Door Opener (or Other Devices) to a Relay
Warning:Power surges, which can occur during electrical storms, can cause life-threatening electric shocks.
•Do not open an already connected PBX during an electrical storm. Do not connect or disconnect power cables during an electrical storm.
Requirements:
•J-Y(St)Y 2x2x0.6) with the following characteristics:
−at least two cores
−unscreened, but screened if conditions are unfavourable, for example, near a strong transmitter or an electrical power line
•A door bell transformer as supply for the door opener (or the device to be connected)
Note:For information about the supply voltage required, read the documentation of the door opener (or the device to be connected).
Warning:Too high voltage at the relay contacts may damage or destroy the PBX.
•Note the maximum capacity of the relay contacts of 30 V/1 A.
•Using a series relay if you are planning to switch devices powered by mains voltage.
1.Lay the lines.
2.Connect the TO11 terminal (or TO21) to the switch input of the door opener.
3.Connect the TO12 terminal (or TO22) to the door bell transformer.
4.Connect the door bell transformer to the switch input of the door opener.
Note:In addition, the third and sixth relay provide a closed-circuit contact (NC).
Further steps:
•To finish commissioning, you need to configure the COMmander 2TMS (R) module in the Configuration Manager and set up the corresponding door terminal.
