VoIP settings
Proceed as follows:
Separately for subscribers
Using the Configuration Manager
Subscriber-related: Subscriber (scr.) > Properties
SUBSCRIBER
Select the subscriber you want to display/configure.
Function-related: Subscriber (scr.) > Functional Overview
Configure
Opens the configuration of the individual functions for all subscribers.
*Important: The settings done are only valid on the condition that they are not overridden by a profile. The simultaneous display takes place only on page Subscriber (scr.) > Properties under Overridden by profile in configuration.
*Note: [Name configuration] ...: In the displayed configuration, the function is overridden by the displayed setting. Configuration via the Configuration Manager (Subscriber (scr.) > Profiles> ...)
*Note: not overridden by a profile: The function is currently not overridden by a profile.
*Note: (not profile-controlled): The function cannot be controlled with a profile.
Requirement:
Subscriber is a VoIP end device
Jitter buffer
Specifies the size of the jitter buffer in milliseconds (duration of the audio signals). In this time period RTP packets are cached (lower values = lower number, greater values = greater number). Delays in the transmission and loss of packets can be compensated that way.
Echo cancellation
Local echoes and reverberation effects during internal VoIP calls are compensated.
SIP alert info
Select the options for signalling call tones on end devices. For signalling, the Invite is sent to the end device to transfer the call types. Depending on the device, the call types are either fully converted into call tones, or converted in a simplified version. The following options are available here.
External and internal calls
Device uses this selection of call types to signal call tones.
External, internal, group, door and alarm calls
Device uses all the call types supported by the PBX to signal call tones.
This is the default setting when a subscriber is configured.
If problems occur with signalling on the end device, use one of the options listed above.
Allowing Update Messages
If the function is enabled and Online name search is activated, the name will be updated while the connection is being set up.
When transferring without announcement is activated and the function is enabled, the name as well as the phone number will be updated while the connection is being set up.
*Note: In the event of problems while the connection is being set up, this function should be disabled as a possible cause.
RTP encryption
Allows an exception from the default settings of the PBX for the corresponding VoIP subscriber. The default setting is Adopt from Administration ->SIPS/SRTP internal (default).
Setting the exception is required if:
The corresponding phone does not support the settings of the PBX. This may cause problems e.g. during a call being established.
You must bypass the PBX settings for testing or troubleshooting purposes.
*Note: The settings of the PBX for the corresponding subscriber and the settings of the phone must match.
Adopt from Administration ->SIPS/SRTP internal (default)
The PBX setting applies for the subscriber.
Only encrypted
Example: SRTP is disabled in the PBX. The phone requires an enabled SRTP.
Only unencrypted
Example: SRTP is enabled in the PBX. The phone does not support SRTP.
Format of transferred phone number
The PBX supports several formats to display the country code of incoming calls on the display of the VoIP phone being called, e.g. adjusted to a small display.
*Note: With the phones COMfortel 3200/3500 and COMfortel D-series, the format country code with leading + sign (e.g. + 49 5306) cannot be used.
Features of the phone|Configure
The Configuration Manager of the phone opens.
*Note: COMfortel WS-500X Handset: For a handset of this device type, the web configurator of the base station to which this device is assigned is opened.
Assigning the MAC address of the device
The MAC address of a phone is needed to identify a phone that is assigned to a specific subscriber. For all transactions between phone and PBX the PBX must be able to identify the MAC address of the phone so that the phone can be matched to a subscriber and his/her provisioning data.
found devices
Select one of the existing MAC addresses.
assigned devices
MAC addresses already assigned to the subscribers.
manual assignment
Enter manually (only digits) or take over a MAC address after reading with a bar code scanner.
The MAC address of a device can be found as follows:
Automatic extraction from the client certificate sent by the phone
Reading with a bar code scanner enabled and connected to the computer (e.g. via a USB interface)
Reading e.g. on the menu oft the phone or on a label
*Note: If a MAC address has been entered and assigned to a subscriber, the corresponding phone can already be provided with provisioning data during its first boot process.
IPUI (only COMfortel WS-500X Handsets)
Current IPUI
The IPUI already assigned to this subscriber.
free IPUI
Selection of an unassigned IPUI for this subscriber.
COMfortel WS-500 (only COMfortel WS-500X Handsets)
Assignment of this subscriber to a specific base station.
Header file
Display of the header file which is assigned to the subscriber.
Subscriber (scr.) > IP provisioning > File management
Provisioning file
Display of the provisioning file which is assigned to the subscriber.
Subscriber (scr.) > IP provisioning > File management
Format of transferred phone number for LDAP requests
The PBX supports different formats, so you can dial the contact's phone number correctly using an LDAP request.
*Important: The format can be configured in different places, depending on the username used when logging in:
cn=auerswaldschandelah,dc=auerswald: User data > Address Books > Settings > Format of transferred phone number for LDAP requests
telephoneNumber= ,dc=auerswald: Subscriber (scr.) > Configure > VoIP settings > Format of transferred phone number for LDAP requests
*Note: Country code with leading zeros and exchange line access number (e.g. 00495306...): If exchange line request type Internal phone is set for the subscriber, the exchange line access number is inserted before the phone number. This applies for the following device types: Standard VoIP phone, COMfortel WS-500X Handset.
