Configuring the Size of the Jitter Buffer for VoIP Subscribers
RTP packets can be cached in the jitter buffer for a defined time period. They will be transfered continuously from there to the receiver. Delays in the transmission and loss of packets can be compensated that way. The jitter buffer can be configured separately for subscribers and VoIP providers.
Configuration can be carried out as follows:

Requirements:
– VoIP channels (COMpact 3000 VoIP or VoIP channels purchased and activated in the Upgrade Center)
– Configuration manager, opened with sufficient authorisation

1.
Open the page PROPERTIES > Internal subscribers > Subscriber properties > VoIP Settings.
2.
3.
Enter a value in the Jitter buffer entry field. The following entries are possible:

40 to 160: The size of the jitter buffer in milliseconds (duration of the audio signals).
Note: You can configure the jitter buffer for VoIP providers on the page CONFIGURATION > Voice over IP (VoIP) > VoIP provider > Provider configuration > Network.

Further steps:
– Save your settings before you leave the page.
