Possible Connection Options for Configuring the PBX and the Connected ISDN System Telephones
The following connection options are possible for configuring or remotely configuring the PBX and the connected ISDN system telephones:
Configuration of the PBX via the Internal Network
The PBX is normally configured via an internal network connection. The PC used for this must be located on the same network as the PBX.
Configuring the PBX Remotely via the Internet with ARA Server
Remote configuration of the PBX can be accessed via the http://remote-access.auerswald.de/remote-access on the Internet. This requires a dealer access via the Internet and enabling of the Auerswald Remote Access (ARA) in the PBX.
Configuring the PBX Remotely via the Internet without ARA Server
You can also configure the PBX remotely via an internet connection (DSL). This requires a fixed external IP address. Alternatively, you can use VPN or DynDNS. The router on the PBX's network must be configured accordingly.
Configuration of the PBX via an Internal S0 Port (PPP Internal)
Important: This function is only possible with the COMpact S0 module or COMpact ISDN module available as an option.
The PBX can only be configured over an indirect internal or external ISDN connection on a device that is not only connected to an internal S0 port on the PBX but also to a PC (ISDN PC controller or Auerswald USB device). The PBX must be configured for this purpose accordingly. A dial-up connection must also have been previously configured on the PC.
Remote Configuration on the PBX via the External S0 Port (PPP External)
Important: This function is only possible on the COMpact 3000 ISDN or the COMpact ISDN module available as an option.
The PBX can only be configured remotely over an indirect external ISDN connection on a device that is not only connected to the external S0 port on the PBX but also to a PC (ISDN PC controller or Auerswald USB device). The PBX must be configured for this purpose accordingly. A dial-up connection must also have been previously configured on the PC.
Note: During a remote configuration (PPP), the page loading of the configuration manager may take some minutes.
Configuring an ISDN System Telephone via the PBX (Internal)
An ISDN system telephone can be configured via an indirect connection over the PBX. The configuration software COMfortel Set for the ISDN system telephone must be previously installed.
Configuring an ISDN System Telephone Remotely via the External S0 Port on the PBX
Important: This function is only possible on the COMpact 3000 ISDN the COMpact ISDN module available as an option.
An ISDN system telephone can be configured remotely over the PBX and one device that is connected to both the external S0 port on the PBX and a PC (ISDN PC controller or Auerswald USB device). The PBX must be configured for this purpose accordingly. The configuration software for the ISDN system telephone must have been previously installed.
