External Private Branch Exchanges
External private branch exchanges are treated as internal VoIP phones in the PBX (see
Configuring Internal IP Telephony). The VoIP phones are connected to the PBX network via a VPN tunnel.
Note: If necessary, refer to your network administrator for VPN settings.
Important: Note that when using an external private branch exchange, emergency calls can only be traced back to the location (localization). Localization is necessary if the caller is no longer able to specify his name and address. Therefore, for emergency calls from a remote extension, a mobile phone or a phone connected to the local VoIP or public switched network is required.
Configuration procedure:
•Configuring a VoIP channel as an internal VoIP channel for each external private branch exchange planned.
−Administration > Configuration VoIP > Répartition des canaux VoIP
•Switching on Prevention of emergency calls.
−Abonnés (Abo) > Features > Paramètres de ligne
•If necessary, SIP port of the internal VoIP registrar.
−Administration > Configuration VoIP > SIP
•If necessary, switching on the DiffServ to increase the VoIP call quality.
−Administration > Configuration VoIP > Quality of Service (QoS)
•If necessary, changing the jitterbuffer value to increase the VoIP call quality.
−Abonnés (Abo) > Features > Paramètres VoIP
