Using the Configuration Manager to Configure a Function Key for PBX Functions
The function key on a COMfortel DECT 900/900C Handset can be assigned to up to ten programming functions on the PBX.
Proceed as follows:
Using the Configuration Manager


Requirements:
COMfortel DECT 900 Base connected to the internal S0 port
COMfortel DECT 900/900C Handsets
Configured and assigned internal numbers for the COMfortel DECT 900/900C Handsets


1.Open the page Subscriber (scr.) > COMfortel DECT.
2.Select the DECT base in the list field under DECT base.
3.Click Assign keys in the line of the corresponding mobile handset.
4.In the first Function list field select one of the following options:
---: Enables any function to be entered.
[Function]: Assigns the selected function to the key.
When selecting a function, the fields Name and Tmpl. for the programming function are pre-assigned accordingly.
5.In the Name entry field, enter a name for the key or, if necessary, change the predefined name.
*Note: The name is shown on the display after pressing the function key on a COMfortel DECT 900/900C Handset.
6.In the Tmpl. for the programming function entry field, enter a programming function on the PBX or replace the placeholder for the specified programming function. Possible entries:
Digits and the characters * and #
UserPIN: Requires user PIN to be entered
IdentNumber: Requires the identification number to be entered
SC: Requires a short-code dialling number or external number to be entered
MSN, MSN/DDI: Requires your own external numbers to be entered
Phone number: Requires an external number to be entered
Subscriber: Requires an internal subscriber number to be entered
Subscriber/group: Requires an internal subscriber number/internal number of a line group to be entered
*Note: The character strings for the programming functions are listed in this manual under "Configuring and Operating Functions".
7.Repeat step 4 to 6 to assign the function key with additional PBX functions.
8.Click Save.
9.Repeat step 2 to 6 to configure the function key for an additional mobile handset.
*Note: The function key of a mobile handset can be copied into other mobile handsets (Copy keys under Function keys).
*Note: The PBX begins to distribute the data to the mobile handsets in question. If a mobile handset is currently not ready for the data transfer (disabled, out of range or busy with a call), the PBX makes an attempt with the next mobile handset after a few minutes until all of the data is distributed. During the data transfer (duration: up to two minutes), the mobile handset is not available and "Copying from PBX" is shown on the display.
