Voice mailbox for call recordings
Use the Enregistrement de l'appel function to record incoming and outgoing calls and save them as audio files (*.wav) on a USB data storage device.
The calls are recorded using a voice mailbox, specially set up for this purpose, together with an assigned recording channel.
*Note: The Enregistrement de l'appel function is only available in specific countries, and requires activation.
Recording
The incoming call starts being recorded when the called subscriber picks up. As a result, only what the caller hears during a successful connection is recorded.
An outgoing call starts being recorded when the exchange line channel is assigned, i.e. the call progress sounds are also recorded.
Internal conversations and transfer processes (e.g. query calls) are not recorded.
This meta data is available for every recording:
Phone number of external caller
Phone number of the subscriber who takes the call
Date of recording
Time at which recording begins
Conversation duration in the format hh.mm.ss
The meta data listed here are used as the file name for a recording.
The maximum length of a recording is 99 minutes.
Each voice mailbox can hold a maximum of 50,000 recordings.
Automatic clean-up of call recording files
If at least one voice mailbox on the PBX is configured for the Enregistrement de l'appel function, the global setting option for automatically cleaning up the voice mailboxes can no longer be used. However, every voice mailbox can be configured individually, and then operates independently of the device's use as an answering machine or for call recordings.
Encryption
The files containing the recordings are stored, unencrypted, on the USB data storage device.
Encryption prevents unauthorised access to the data storage device and the files stored on it.
The encryption process sets a password for the entire partition on the data storage device. Once the data storage device is formatted, the partition is encrypted.
If the password is changed, it will no longer be possible to access existing data.
Administrator and owner of the voice mailbox and recordings
Administrator
Only the PBX's administrator is authorised to listen to and manage the files or the voice mailboxes.
Owner
It is not possible to assign an owner to a voice mailbox for call recordings.
If, at a later date, a voice mailbox for call recordings is used as a box for an answering machine, it can then be assigned to one or more owners. In this case, after confirmation at the prompt, all existing recordings in this box are deleted.
Channels
A recording channel or an MSN must be assigned to every voice mailbox that is to be used for call recordings.
In the factory settings, 4 VoIP channels for 4 analogue exchange lines are set up for call recordings.
The channels required for this are permanently reserved on the PBX and are not available for use as voice mailboxes that function as an answering machine or for other calls.
