PIN
Freely selectable PIN that consists of 6 digits. The PIN is used e.g. for access to voice mailbox, fax box, COMfortel Set and a COMfortel VoIP 2500 AB system phone.
Notices:
To change current PINs and passwords, select Edit PIN and password
All PINs in the PBX are unique, it is therefore not possible to assign the same PIN twice.
Do not use dates of birth or dates as PINs. This makes it easy for an attacker to find out the correct PIN. Do not use PINs which are easy to guess, such as 111111 or 123456.
Caution: Visible PINs and passwords are a security risk.
•After entering, select Hide PIN and password.
Password
Freely selectable password that consists of 8 to 32 characters containing digits, letters (upper and lower case, but no German umlauts and ß) and special characters - _ . ! ~ * ' ( ) & = + $ ,. The password is used for logging-in to the Configuration Manager (associated user name is the internal number) and for registering VoIP phones.
Notices:
To change current PINs and passwords, click on Edit PIN and password.
A coloured bar under the entry field shows the security level of the password (red = low level, green = high level).
Passwords with a low security level cannot be saved.
Caution:
A high level does not automatically indicate a secure password. This can also be achieved by name and date of birth in connection with special characters. However, names and dates of birth should not be used for passwords.
•To create a secure password you can consult, for example, the guidelines of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI, in German).
Visible PINs and passwords are a security risk.
•After entering, select Hide PIN and password.
LDAP password for subscriber-specific LDAP requests

Requirements:
•Subscribers may create own passwords for accessing the web server/API switched on (Subscriber (scr.) > All subscribers)
•Subscribers may generate own passwords for accessing Action URLs switched on (Devices > Action URLs)
Notices:
If the above-mentioned settings in the Configuration Manager were made as administrator, additional passwords for the Configuration Manager/API and Action URLs can be configured when logging in as subscriber. If only one of the above-mentioned requirements has been enabled, accordingly, the subscriber may only configure additional passwords for this option. The administrator may still configure additional passwords for subscribers.
The last password for the use of the Configuration Manager/API cannot be deleted.
After the subscriber has assigned another password, he cannot go back to the original password. Only the (sub-)administrator has this authorisation.
